Ruddington Village FC backs the FA’s national Play Safe Campaign

Steve Carr13 Sep 2023 - 07:26

Play Safe is football’s national campaign to focus attention on the vital importance of safeguarding in our national game

This year, Play Safe Weekend will take place on Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October 2023, helping drive greater awareness of the safeguarding practice and culture in everyone’s club / organisation. Link to the FA page on this is https://www.thefa.com/playsafe

The campaign is officially supported by the NSPCC as well as the Premier League, EFL, Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship. It’s also being backed by every other level of the game across England.

The key focus is the role of parents/carers in safeguarding and hence we are encouraging all parents / carers to get closer to this and consider / action the following:

• Are you aware of the vital safeguarding role you play in football?
• Please take the short and free safeguarding course specifically developed for parents/carers, which can be accessed here.
• Complete the new Player Welfare Course, which is aimed at those involved with open age football.

As a matter of course, Ruddington Village FC ensures that all of our managers / coaches all have the relevant FA Safeguarding qualifications in place which have to be refreshed every couple of years. In addition we will be asking our managers to take the new Player Welfare Course. Our safeguarding policy is on the new website www.ruddingtonvillagefc.com

Every child who plays football for Ruddington Village FC has the right to be able to do this in a safe and enjoyable environment. If you would like to report any safeguarding issues please contact our Club Welfare Officer – Paul Disney – 07967 342832 – clubwelfare@ruddingtonvillagefc.com
